18" x 24" Full Color. 100# Gloss Poster.
This is the 2nd poster in a series of 5 posters (levels 0-4) that give a full and complete curriculum to learning the art of aerial sling, as designed by Rebekah Leach. The curriculum is called the Born to Fly Curriculum. We offer live trainings that go into the vast detail of how to progress safely through the curriculm. (You are welcome to embrace this curriculum and teach it even if you do not take the teacher trainings.) Find out more at www.borntoflyteachers.com.
Goals of Level 1 Sling: The goal of level 1 is to finish building the foundation that was started in Level 0. Full inversion strength will be required during Level 2; a student must be working on their core integration throughout their aerial journey in order to progress further. The cross-hip pull-over is the assessment move at this level. When a student fully has that move without “cheating,” they are ready for Level 2.
Key areas of study include more intricate vocabulary standing on the loop, transitions to sitting, seatbelt, single thigh wrap moves, double thigh wrap (catcher’s) sequences and press supports. Press supports are a great way to cross-train the grip. Instead of pulling, press supports require a push with the grip or no grip at all. In the double thigh wrap series, students will be learning how to climb as well as have the opportunity to experience their next mini-drop. Fun!
