Full Term Pregnant & Dancing

I love moving with my sling. It is my go-to apparatus for life. I might be too big to climb a rope, and steel bars might be too hard for my body to handle on some days, but the sling is the one apparatus I can come back to at all times, even if I've gained over 30% of the body weight and am carrying another person in my body. These pictures show my belly in full force during the final few weeks of my pregnancy. I love how in some of the pictures you can't even tell I'm pregnant (when I'm turned around - you can't miss it when belly is in view!). The pregnant body is so wild.

Movement is so healing and I'm glad that I've had these opportunities to enjoy movement throughout pregnancy just like I do all the time. I might not be doing any high-flying tricks, but that's never been the point anyway. The point has always been about art, expression, and most of all, joy. Movement is joy's expression for me. I hope that's what you sense as you enjoy these pictures and video - scroll down for video! :)

For those of you who are looking for more information about training while pregnant, please check out the book that took me 3 years to put together! I interviewed over 40 aerialists regarding their journeys of training while pregnant, and the book is going to continue to be added to and revised in future years.  It's a wonderful collection of stories and wisdom from aerial mama's who have gone before you. Check it out in my shop. Thanks!
You can also view a performance that I did at my church while 6 months pregnant here.
I had that healthy baby boy March 2015. He's grown up so fast! I'm way past being pregnant, and I barely remember these days, but it's always sweet to look back on them now and then and remember all the parts to my incredible journey. This next video is enjoying the first couple weeks with my little one (way back years ago now!). :)
