North Charleston Arts Festival: "Strong Ties"

I had the wonderful opportunity to perform with a collaboration of artists from the Charleston area. I got to perform a 10 minute solo, but even better was an improvisation piece done with live music, playing by Adam Steer. The other dancer was Maggie of Annex Dance company. I was on the sling and she was on the ground. We had the basic structure which was: apart, come together, spin, swing, ascend, and end. But all the details of what that looked like got to work themselves out in the moment. The best is when you feel the moments that really move you as an artist, where you feel you really hit upon something, and you hope the audience feels it too.
